Post by michael mcauliffe »

Hi Folks

Does the Volvo c303 have power steering ?

If not, is there a way to connect a power steering unit from another truck or 4WD.

I lve in Australia

The C303 does not have power steering. Power steering conversions have been done in the past mainly by people in Europe. I can't remember where I saw the topic discussed last--it may have been on this forum or on the Yahoo Groups. If you do a search, you should be able to find further information.

Cheers,

powersteering

Post by chris »

Some of the civilian volvo's had powersteering. Here in norway (and sweden) there is many who has tried and some work and some dont. I have heard that you can use parts from chevrolet van. there are some guys trying this out here now so i can post a link to the site when they post it how to and what parts you need etc.

I follow this topic with full attention!.

I also have been thinking about this.
The steering setup is very uncommon/weird.

I was thinking for using a full hydrolic steering setup,
with a pump driven from a pulley or electric,
like new cars have today. Advantage of electric driven pump
doesn't need extra brackets on the motor.

I have found ONE example on the internet, he used
a steering setup I think from a van or something like that.
