Lending a helping hand to a Defender

Post by spandit »

Just back from a day's off-roading with the AWDC. Awesome day, despite getting royally stuck at one point (rescued by someone in a 712M). Repaid the favour by rescuing a Defender, a Frontera and a bobtailed Disco (although the Frontera was actually being winched out by a Defender and I was stopping the Defender from being dragged into the water)

Apart from the brakes switching off (as expected) and another bloody misfire (think an HT lead has been rubbing against the rocker cover) ended up relatively unscathed - certainly in better shape than I had been with my old distributor ignition.

Thanks for posting that pic. I know a few LR owners that would howl at
seeing that picture...but, hey we have to lend a hand at times and that is
how we all keep going ahead.
I once pulled out some kids that were stuck in deep sand in the desert
with their 2 wd VW. No business trying that stunt.

Getting stuck on a pay and play day is fun - if you don't get stuck, you're not really trying! Getting stuck for real is not fun.
