NMS Airshow Scotland

Post by ScottishPinz »

National Museum of Scotland's Airshow 2014

Mine was the only 'old' Pinzgauer in the ground display. The army had a 6x6 TD towing the 105 mm field gun.

Not sure what this bracket behind the rear wheel is for?
Look at the paint colour difference, this was referred to somewhere in another thread.

Isn't that the wheel-chock bracket? I bet it has a different name over your way!

Yes that makes perfect sense. The absence of the chock left it's use unclear!

Yeap, that is a wheel chock bracket. :D
Interesting is the SDP logo and what looks to be the corner of a plastic doghouse, that would indicate it has a 5 cyl TDI engine to me.
I would have thought it would have had a Pinzgauer logo. But the radiator shroud could have been changed at some time...?

It's getting to I can't tell which TDs have what engine in them from the exterior

BTW, that "rusty" piece of metal that appears just under the chock bracket is the rear blackout light that illuminates a white 'paddle' just forward of it, as a marker for the driver in the vehicle behind . On any other MV, they just painted the rear diff cover white

Hmmm, I need to check GG for any other badging. I only remember the one in the grille. My old 716 had SDP badging front and rear

Yeap, same as the Pink Cow. I think I still have another of those SDP license lamp...GG's is blank

BTW, I liked the simple, clean winch mount used on the later TDs so much, that I used it as a pattern for on the 716

I think you should be banned from posting photos of a pinz without pics of your girl

Now, I know it's really ScottishPinz. Back to his old style.
Was worried there for a while. :D
BTW, I think that wearing goggles while driving the Pinz is rather stylish, and further sets us apart from the motoring world.
