Can anyone tell me about these numbers stamped on the edge of the engine bay of my recently acquired 712?
Thanks!
Rob.

A guess coming from another thread I saw, but maybe in the 18th week of 1989 your Pinz got a new/refurbished body installed.

Yes, that is the sign of a replacement body. Very kind of the Swiss to do this for us!

Thanks for that, I tried to search for existing threads but came up blank.... Wonder if it got all the other new parts at that time including speedometer/odometer showing just over 2800km, and another motor - numbers don't match?

They would do whatever is necessary to get the truck back into top condition so it can be released back into service. Your body replacement is not uncommon.
