Original tire diameters and tread width

Post by JimmyC »

I have some nice shiny Cepek wheels on my 710 but i was thinking I might want some standard rims for trail use so I do not mess them up. I have seen a lot of reference to the original tires being 245 x 16, but no hint of the aspect ratio or diameter. My experience is that no stated aspect ratio usually means 100% meaning 9-16/34 but everybody seems to be running 245/75 or 235/85 which are smaller diameter.

Are you asking something?

Tire size has been discussed here at length, including comparison to original. Here's the first one my search turned up: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6188&hilit=tire+size

I am curious what the OEM tire diameter would be. I have not been able to find that on here.
