best photo I can get of the spacers Mark made for my Pinz. also a comparison photo set of the before and after effect.

Re: Coil spring spacers?
I realize that the after photo is not that great but it is the only one I have currently of the front of the truck sitting still. You can see that the tires are standing straight up, unlike in the before photo where there was a substantial lean to the tires.
I also experienced a "lift" in the front end of the truck. I have not noticed the lack of travel in the suspension as I thought I might.

Re: Coil spring spacers?
I could get some made up if anyone wants to provide the dimensions needed.

Re: Coil spring spacers?
I also am interested - my 710M rides great - just would like to lift the nose a bit and correct the slight angle-in of the tires at the top - especially if I finally add anything more to the front.
Seems like adding a spacer at the top (or a longer pin at the bottom - part #19) would result in the internal rubber bump stop making contact sooner though - which isn't necessary that big of an issue - it is more of a rubber "overload" spring in some ways. slightly less front end travel would result. I have heard of people cutting the front rubber bumpers down a bit to increase the front end flex on lightly loaded Pinzgauers though - maybe that would be an option...
The only way to not affect the travel range is to replace the spring with something stiffer or longer.
So - I guess either end could of the spring could be done - making a longer screw at the bottom might be easier (cut and weld in a section - grind to a taper?). I would think instead of making an additional spacer for the top it would be better to just replace that spacer (Part #1) entirely with a new one that is a bit longer - looks like a simple part to make up on a lathe?
Either way you need a spring compressor to do the job though... I've had to top cups out to replace - I don't remember taking that part (#1) off - but it was probably was wedged into the recess.

Re: Coil spring spacers?
Bumping this thread up. I have front Pinz sag, tires cantered and am wanting to buy some spacers or find the time to build some.
If anyone has had recent success, please PM me, I would gladly pay for a set of 3/4 -1". I did reach out to Mark and he doesnt have the dims any longer to build another set.
Tearing the Pinz down and having it non mobile isnt an option for me right now, in a month or two it might and if no resolution by then I will build a set.

Re: Coil spring spacers?
Are you bottoming out in your right wheel well? Esp down grade hard turn left?
Might need new springs. At one time there were 3 grades of coil spring stiffness
depending upon load. I think what you can get now is the middle grade, I'd look
into that before you "jack" your rig.
P.S. The right well has the tightest clearance due to the differentials axles offset.

Re: Coil spring spacers?
After talking with David it may be a worn front spring issue. I am aware of the rear sitting naturally taller and the right front axle location pushed forward, but mine sits 2 1/2 inches or more lower in front and has exagerated camber at the top of the tires. " neat rig, whats wrong with the suspension" the 33" tires dont help matters. I just need to pull it apart and take some measurements of the springs to verify sag. It has good travel just crappy ride height.
Re: Coil spring spacers?
Get the correct coil compressor, these babies are BOMBS
Oh, my old springs where pretty much the same free standing height
as the new ones, but they compressed far more under load.

Re: Coil spring spacers?
Please heed this advice!
FWIW, I have a set of virtually new "progressive" front springs that I got from Linden years ago. Dennis said they had been custom made for some customer who didn't keep them. I've never installed 'em. If anyone's interested, I'd let them go for a song. Well, maybe more than a song, but make an offer!! I need the room in the shop more than I need the springs.rmel wrote:Get the correct coil compressor, these babies are BOMBS

Re: Coil spring spacers?
Let's bring this back - I put a new set of springs on my truck last year and it did not change my issue. I still need the spacers - I would want 1" if not more.
Does anyone have the components off of their truck? Something we could use to measure and create the spacers required?
