aftermarket hi temp duct hose as furnace exhaust?

Build projects, things that guys have come up with to make a Pinz better (or worse?) and aftermarket add-ons.

aftermarket hi temp duct hose as furnace exhaust?

Post by audiocontr »

I have a small rv furnace that I'm replacing with a larger. I was considering using the RV furnace in the 712m with a small propane tank. It's that or scrap it.

Furnace manufacturers are very clear that one is not to modify the intake and exhaust. I want to modify the intake and exhaust :D. I was considering the use of hi temp silicone reinforced hose from McMaster, basically the same stuff we use as our aftermarket ducting. Intake is 2". Exhaust is 1.5"

Beyond the risk of collapse, what risks do you forsee?

Orange Silicone hose good for 450F operating temp MAX.

Possible you are well over that Temp just at the exit of the furnace? If still operational
you could measure the exhaust with a handheld IR temp gun from El Harbor Freight.

275 degrees 1 inch from the output.

Great site by the way! Much cheaper than McMaster
