replaced my hi lo gearbox this weekend

Post by Hotzenplotz »

Image
raised the bum with a HiLift and lowered the load on a 80 mm square profile
Image
removed 5 bolts holding the rear end of the platform and loosened the two at the front axle
disconnected the pipes for rear brakes and lockers and unplugged the locker indication cables
Image
Then we had enough leeway to roll out the rear axles
Image
the new gearbox gets the witches head installed with a new o-ring

reinstalled the whole shebang in reverse order and enjoyed a test ride afterwards
Cheers

Love those booster blocks holding everything up, these are Graubünden -- no :?
You make the whole thing look so easy :? but I know this is no small job.

One of these days I want to replace my 710 X-case for a 712, with the TD tranie
just a better all around compromise for hi and low end IMHO.
