I finally got around to roughing in the install of the arb compressor that has been sitting on my desk for months. I originally thought i would mount it in the tool box but repeated warnings in the manual about submersing changed my mind.
I decided to mount it behind the ds seat in the rear. It fits well and is directly over the batteries for the shortest run of wire. I am mounting two remote couplings, one on each side of the truck. One in the battery box and one over the jerry can mount.
I needed a few grommets for the holes i cut in the truck for the wiring and air line, of course the ace next to the house was closed for Easter (which is good). Ill pick them up tomorrow and plumb everything up for a test. Its kind of nice having a truck with enough issues i dont mind cutting holes..lol..makes life really easy!
Dont mind the rusted battery box, i have another to replace and just wanted to fit everything to the junk box first.

What diameter of braided line is that? Some have really small internal diameters. Don't want to make it any harder for the compressor to do its job then is necessary.

Its ARB's reinforced hose (1/4") they recommended to use to the remote couplers.

Good mounting spot and you could always cut an ammo can back and bottom off and make a cover for it (if you wanted it more out of sight as I know those are not cheap compressors!)
Post up some shots of the finished chuck mounts!

Re: ARB 24v air compressor install
I fully mounted and plumbed the compressor and installed all of the grommets. The chuck mount in the battery box is slightly awkward to use as you have to use your left hand to plug it in due to its location on the right side of the box.
The compressor (w no tank) can initially spin a 1/2" onyx impact fast enough to break lug nuts that i tightened as hard as i could with a lug wrench.

Very cool set-up. I carry this baby and it's amazing how powerful it is.. enough to do remove and mount any bunch of tires I have. I found a used one for a great deal after seeing pro mechanics using them in a big tire shop.

Re: ARB 24v air compressor install
Hey guys, new guy here.
One of the tricks the guys with the big M-Series 6x6s do is hook a pony tank with a standard line (1/4" or 3/8") to the air system and then a larger diameter hose (1/2") to the air tool to be run. This compensates for the lower CFM of the M35's air compressor pump (really setup for the air over hydraulic brake system). You get a larger surge CFM capacity.
This also solves the problem of having to fit a tank on a vehicle like a pinz that has a dearth of places to put it.
