Vey nice rig,
got a question tell me about your A/C unit on top
Size and how you power it?
I am getting a 712 built with a 710 cab on and would like to have A/C. I am looking at a 13000 BTU roof top while use a 3000 watt portable gen.

any info would be great
thanks

Hey there,
This is an Advent AC135 AC unit. Its a 13500BTU init that runs on 115v shore power.
It requires 3000 watts at 15amps.
It cools fairly well. It also has an optional heating coil- so I can use electric heat for those cooler nights.
I have it tied into a shore power plug on the back. I also have a power strip for other items and a battery charger/conditioner so I can use any of the 12v/24v accessories without draining the battery.

What kind of generator are you getting? I'v always wanted to get this AC running 'off the grid' but haven't found a practical way of dong it. The stock alternator isn't powerful enough to drive it through an inverter.

Morning thanks for the quick reply ,
I am getting 712 built with a 710 cab on it by Fat-Fabrications out of TX. I am looking at the 3000 or 3500 watt Generac units to mount on the rear of the truck and be able to use it while driving. Once I get some where I can take it off and move it away from the truck using a long cord to power the A/C like shore power anywhere. How cool does it keep your 710 ? and is it insulated ?

again
thanks and you have a Very Cool 710

It keeps it pretty cool. I've never measured it, but I'd probably say about 70 degrees. Over the summer it was about 95 out, and I turned it on to cool down the inside before taking off, and it kept it very cool and comfortable for about 20 minutes. The inside of the Pinz is insulated with military foam pad material. Keeps the noise down pretty well too.
The heating element works 'ok'. I haven't tried it when its really cold out yet, but it will keep the inside comfortably warm, but not hot.
