Build projects, things that guys have come up with to make a Pinz better (or worse?) and aftermarket add-ons.

New Headlights and Turn Signals

Post by Daly944 »

I've seen a few people with this type of headlight, but no one with different turn signals. All LED, the turn signals are much brighter in person.

I and many others prefer the original aesthetic that unique parts like the turn signal lenses give. When you change such a specific signature design element like that it becomes less "Pinzgauer looking" to me, and more homemade. Changing the signal bulbs out to LED is a viable option.

I like the original look too, but think this was tastefully done. Nice.

I did a combination.. I added a 2way LED flasher behind so I can send the turn signal input for standard use or my amber flash input when on active Search & Rescue mission and need the additional visibility. The result is an assembly that looks stock but provides better functionality and more visibility.

Looking good.

Where did you purchase the Head lights and the led turn lights from?

Sorry for slow reply. Haven’t been to this site for a while.

The headlights are stock Jeep 7” round headlights, I just modified the connector to fit.

The turn signals are Whalen Vortex LEDs that support two inputs. I use one in amber flashing mode when on an active mission where emergency lights are needed. The other input gets the turn signal lead so it continues to function as normal. I did it over 5yrs ago so I don’t recall if I had to add resistance or not, sorry. I assume so.. I mounted the original turn signal housing over top so it remains stock looking.

Clean looking truck, I like the red hitch pin.

Nice looking headlights, I have been curious about upgrading my headlights and would love to know where these came from and how they look. I know LED's tend to be bright, so figure they are probably pretty nice.

I think these are #757 of 7″ VX Series LED Headlight, along with part #5556 to throw both beams on the bright setting. These headlights allow the ring to run on the parking light setting without any mods in my case. visionxusa.com

I put these on my K also even thought I had semi-modern H4 headlights from the Austrian rehabs. Even though I prefer stock-looking Pinzs, I make a concession to safety (being seen) and being able to see at night. The truck’s color makes it disappear at night. These throw a lot of light in the stock form and keep the front end simple and legal, unlike with a light bar or extra lights.
