Re: OIl in axle housing
Mine doesn't. I never really touched diffs after longer drive to figure if they get warm. In any case front one should not get warm if not in 4x4?

OIl in axle housing
I have noticed oil leak coming from a cracked boot on the front differential. I have dumped the oil from differential, and it looked it was normal amount although I did not take a precise measurement. When I split the axle, small amount of oil came from the half of axle housing coming from the ...

WANTED: Pinz Front spring compression tool tensioners
I got an oddball lot of Pinz tools from ebay. I have two "C" clamps for front spring compressor tool, but tensioning pieces are missing. I know chances are low, but if anybody has extra set of tensioners please let me know if you would want to sell. Asked SAV and EI, they have none.
Thank you

Re: carb adjustment, Gunson colortune, O2 Sensor
By the color. It is in instructions which came with colortune. It was some time ago, so I'll need to read instructions again, but you notice when color just starts changing from blue to red (or vice-versa, sorry I forgot), that is the optimal mixture.

Colortune is exactly what you need. I have used it on my pinz and it works as advertised.

Re: Fuel Starvation Issue?
Longshot, but it is possible for tank vent (in the tank cap) got clogged. Test is easy, simply remove the cap and take it for a ride.

Re: Gas Tank Vent
It took awhile for my fuel pressure gauge to arrive, so I am late with the update. Basically, truck seems to run fine. I did not do anything particular, but installed new fuel filter (old one looked clean) and blown the jets.

Re: Gas Tank Vent
Pulling the drain plug allows fuel to escape the tank far faster than the fuel pump delivers fuel to the carburetor. The vent hole is not of a size that would be expected to keep up with that level of out flow. In my military days I had to drain a fair number of fuel tanks, we never left the fuel ...
