Re: Installing an overdrive/ freeway gear

A big thank you to everyone who provided suggestions. I'm currently in the market to purchase a 710 or 712. Hearing your thoughts/ ideas are extremely helpful in deciding which set up is best for me.

Installing an overdrive/ freeway gear

Has anyone successfully installed an overdrive or taller 4th gear in 710/712? I am not looking to go faster....just gain the ability to cruise on the open highway at lower RPM's. Any recommendations would greatly be appreciated.

Re: General Questions about Pinzgauer's

Thanks for providing your input Stuart! This is exactly the feedback I was hoping to receive. I previously owned a 1947 Jeep Willy....sounds like the Pinz's performance is better across the board.

On a side note, I found a 710 for $12.5K near my house. Hopefully, it's in good shape.

General Questions about Pinzgauer's

I am interested in purchasing a Pinzgauer as a weekend recreational toy (mostly driving around the beach cities with occasional off roading). However, due to my lack of technical expertise, I was hoping someone would be able to answer a few questions for me.

1) Are the 710/712 models safe to drive ...
