I'm asking this because I wonder if people are using dashes as a dash or dashes as a negative symbol. I'm trying to find replacement steel wheels for my 718k... and I'm a bit confused and can't just ...

I just bought a Gantry crane and chain fall from Harbor Freight and used a winch trap and with the one chain fall supported the whole rear of the Pinzgauer from the Gantry crane above it.
I'm sure you've gotten the work done already but this system ...

I bought seven US 2015 Ford transit steel wheels off of Ebay.
Nothing special.
Don"t get the stock ford lug nuts for them....
Just buy after market Doorman lug nuts with the correct seat and thread.
The stock ford transit lug nuts look weird and are meant to hold the wheel cover and the way they are ...

I did the witches hat seal on my 712K. It was leaking from the hat off of the transfer case to the drive shaft going forward. I got tired of topping off the transfer case every 180 miles and filling up the torque tube!
Side note..... if the torque tube becomes to full, the gear oil will heat up ...

I too found the fittings to be leaking at first but.... in looking at the original rubber line vs the new steel lines and their adapters..... it looks like the adapters are not as long as the fittings on the original lines where they thread into the original rubber lines. I found using a pipe dope ...

I see now this is and was a post about gear oils :| ....
I know the pinz engine is not a "race engine" nor is it high compression :| .
It is older and can potentially benefit from motor oil that has some zinc in it that is why I posted the info on this motor oil :| .

I've been using Valvoline VR1 racing oil 20W50 because it has added zinc and states that on the bottle.

That's my pinz with the transit wheels on them and the beer cans lined up on it...
This was last summer with the drum brakes still on it.
The rims came in black.... I just found some rattle can paint which was a close flat green match....
As they get love marks... I just touch up spray them!

Here are my disc brake brackets after I had them yellow zinc coated and a shot of the disc and spacer with studs!
Can't wait to get started on the install!!!!
