Sorry about the hijack! Yes, you do need new springs. Mine were almost touching--I carry a lot of weight.

Miles,
You need to get your bottom strap lined straight up or it will rip out of the side. I ruined a brand new strap because I didn't have it on right.

Broken Axle - Question
Ok,
I finally had time to remove the rear broken axle on the 710. My problem is how to get the axle out of the drive housing. The repair manual doesn't say anything about removing the actual axle, so I assumed it would just pull out? I hate to take the drive housing apart unless I have to.
