Fuel in the pick-up line is only an issue when I don't use the heater for an extended period. I try to fire it up once a month or so in the summer so it never gets empty. It's never an issue in the winter.
That reminds me. For my install I just used the second opening in the top of the tank...I ...

heater
I bought a Webasto 3500 from Dennis and installed it myself with some tips from Dennis over the phone. I love it. It takes a few minutes to heat up the 712 when it is really cold but you can make it a sauna if you want. It makes the Pinz usable in really cold weather. I was out and about yesterday ...

We miss it too. What's keeping us from doing it again? How many Pinzgauers does it take to make a treffen?

gsas heater substitute
New Webasto gasoline heater. They are expensive but work great if you plan on having the truck awhile and on staying warm. I use mine under all conditions, driving on or off road etc.

add on horn wiring
I got the same $20 horn. I piggy- backed the existing wires...I guess that's wired in parallel. It's very loud now! Not anemic anymore! Still kinda high pitched but nice for $20.

webasto
I have the 3500 for my 712M and it is plenty. From what I've heard the 2000 should do very well in the 710M. I went gasoline and ran a line into the fuel tank. It was only available in 12v so I had to get a converter.

I have a Webasto I bought from Dennis (on this forum). I have a bigger one for my 712M and it works great. I installed it with a few tips from Dennis. Worst part was Dennis' accent. No offense, Dennis.

Anybody know what happened to SDP-PINZGAUER? Can we resurrect it or has anybody stored the info there to share with everybody? I've always found it a useful resource.
