I also heard that the Pertronix cannot act like it did to you. The thing is that i'm pretty sure it was part of my problem too when I lost all my ignition system.
So I will keep one of theses little devices as a spare in truck, spacially for my next long trip in the forest here. Sometimes the next ...
When I started my fuel heater system my pump runned for some time, filling up the lines. After that it was like always, great running and puring like a cat.
I'm waiting for new hoses to fix that problem and like Jim told me II won't go for 1 ...
Most of my tune up stuff comes from Pinzgauer Canada (Karl Portmann) but I support greatly SAV and Scott Expedition Import.
SAV as a carb rebuild kit on for sale right now but it is for the big adjusting screws. It is pretty complete. If you have done the carbs in a long time I suggest buying 2 ...
I checked the fuel tank and the fuel system again like Jim Laguardia told me but there was nothing special in the tank. There was some dirt in it but nothing unusual and thank God no red death. Anyway now I'm sure this side of the fuel system is clean.
I checked all the simple thing first but mybe I forgot one. I pm Jim Laguardia yesterday for help and he told me to check the fuel supply line from the tank, maybe the red death in it plugging the line going to the pump ...
No, do not by-pass the ballast resistor but check it as to what resistance it gets. If the resistance is too great it will make heat up and maybe cut the currrent. What I was referring to by-pass was the rev limiter (4500 rpm).
I did mine this morning but it didn't fix my problem.
Again check that resistor, it looks to me something is cutting the current to the engine when it gets hot. I will try to by-pass today, maybe you should try that too. I read quite a few treads where it was the problem.....
yes the timing is correct and both the vacuum lin and the mechanical advance are in the spec. I did check the advance to make sure it is in the spec by using my programable timming light and adlusting the degrees of advance at different RPM.
I tried to find how to jump the rev limiter and could ...
I got her running today. First I got the suppressor off and rebuilt the complete system. I had the civi conversion kit but with the old military coil on, now it is fully civi. I did put on new wires to both the positive and ground terminal of the coil and a ...
Yes I did check the continuity on all wires and everything is good. The distributor is not grounded too. The ground is good to the coil and nowhere else. But it is like I lose the current somewhere.
This morning I will remove the supressor and re do all the wiring to the coil and distributor. :cry ...
And I don't understand why either. I have good current on both the positive and negative side of the coil and the wire going to the distributer is good with the right resistance.
Like I said I tried another coil and a new ignitor.
