Dave, sent this to a couple of US military guys thinking they would think it was cool one responded. (Very interesting unit... typically British, with only a 5.9L diesel... "how little an engine can we get by with?" mentality.) I was thinking 5.9L was a large engine? Had me thinking my 2.5L a little inadequate. Of course my sharp wits i responded. It's not the size but how its used. with no reply. Do you have any idea what the equivalent the US would be coming out with?

The HMT 400, 600 and 800 have ben around for a while. I just couldn't seem to get "jazzed" by them. The Extenda is a neat concept approach to filling logistic needs. In my searches for the US FTTS versions, all that I seem to find are conventional cab models, and no cab forwards.
If you asked that same person about a Dodge Ram's diesel, they'd get all excited, claiming it's a great engine... Well Duh, this is that engine...and there has been several Humvees repowered to the Cummin's also. BTW ask them what they think of a 350 V8 ? That's only 5.7L
Also, the HMT has the same Allison trans as many medium duty trucks use.
Several US MVers are getting a real education around some of my Euro iron and aluminum.
Reading about something and looking at pictures is no substitute for getting up close and seeing how things works, and why they are that way.
All this goes back to why I have the gatherings and post "off topics" like this on Supucats, to educate.

Oh Happy day !
After 14 months of hem and hawing, California issued special plates today for Garfield.
Though it isn't truly street legal, it does have the legal right to drive on secondary roads. And that was the point of this endeavor.
In Cal, ATVs and other offroad vehicles cannot technically be on any public road, and are subject to fines. Garfield is now above that.
I think I'll go to In-n-Out tonight..... or go talk to the clown's head

btw... I'm glad I don't live in Wisconsin

Andy, the only bad thing is that I'll need to shout at the speaker on the left side to order, to be able to drive up to the 'pick-up' wndow on the right

Now, I wonder how many people won't be able to figure that out?
