Speedo and rear lights...
Just picked up my Pinz from the shop, all custom work is now finished! I am excited, but the speedo doesn't work now for some reason and the rear brake lights don't come on. I am taking it back to the shop to have them resolve, but in the meantime if it's something I can check and/or fix myself, I'd rather do that. Any thoughts or suggestions?
As an FYI, the speedo is simply dead. The right rear light works ok when it comes to right turn signal, but there is no brake lights and the left rear signal won't work. Hmmm, maybe the bulbs are simply out? The front signals all work fine.
Speedo I am clueless about for now.
Thanks to all!!

Speedo is it mechanical? check for cable hooked up, then check for cable turning.
Speedo if mechanical check for: does it power up? if so check for having been calibrated. If no ppower up, check for power supplied.
Rear light, what did they do? stock lights, custom lights. Stock lights start at bulbs and go from there. Custom lights start at bulbs and look for power or miss hook up.
Best advice take it back and ask to be repaired. And always check when you pick it up.

Thanks for the info! Fixed the speedo, it works fine now. The rear light wiring was a mess, but fixed that too. Only problem is, unless I am totally a moron, the brake lights only illuminate the yellow lights, not the red. I asked at the shop, and they said that is standard/normal on Euro Pinzgauers. Is that true??

speedo and rear lights
The kit from SAV converts the rear lights to USA type, it keeps them looking stock and you will have red brake lights. (There was a previous post that covered various ideas to have red brake lilghts).
The SAV conversion is very easy to do, took me about an hour to rewire the blackout wire to the brake switch and install the internals.
...although, the trailer now has the blackout light as the brake. Not good.
I will install LED lights on the trailer for added visibility, as I go a little slower with the trailer.
