What can you find out about your Pinz. from the number on the windshield? Can you find any history about it any way?

Last four digits of the VIN (or serial) number.

It's the mlitary registration number (licence plate). The letter indicates a category: ambulance, personnel carrier, radio etc.

At swiss army they have for sure all records on the vehicle but I do not think they are available to the public. Sometime the buyer, trader or private, receives a copy of a sort of dismissal permit based on an appraisal of vehicle conditions, but for it you have to apply to who sold you the car.
