Biased?

Post by rollingpinz »

Hello

There are plenty of arguments for radial tires over bias, but I can't help but notice that bias are still being made. What would be the arguments for a bias tire?

bias

Stronger sidewall and can have a higher load capacity. Also, can be extremely long lasting in comparison to radials. I have the original 1955 tires from my M37 and do run them sometimes when I am going on gravel for several days during the summer. They seem just fine despite being over 50 years old...I have some dated in the 40's on a M101 trailer that I use somewhat regularly.

The steering effort and handling will remain the same or a bit worse than the original tires. I had a set of bias Swampers on a 710M and the handling stunk. The radial Trxus tires I just put on make it feel like I have power steering on the road.
