I've noticed a very small hole in the bottom of the muffler on my Pinz so I'm thinking that's an item that needs to be replaced, not repaired. On a previous post here I believe, I seem to recall some discussion about after market replacement systems for the Pinz and even rerouted systems that exit at the rear of the vehicle.
How about some discussion here about exhaust system replacements whether OEM, after market or home made.
Thanks!

The muffler on my 710 was shot when I got it. I took it to my favorite exhaust specialist shop and they installed a high backpressure muffler and ran the exhaust pipe to the rear of the truck just under the rub rail in front of the mud flap/brake light plate. The turn key cost was $135.00. The truck does have a little more of a tractor sound to it and I have noticed no loss in performance, or gain for that matter other than improved ground clearance.
You can see the exhaust pipe in this photo

Excellent ideas guys, thanks for sharing those. As I'm a big advocate for domestic and/or home made solutions, I'm pleased to see that some exotic part (from some obscure source in Graz) isn't called for.

Hi Guys,
Muffler update: We are currently awaiting delivery (3-4 weeks) from a Canadian manufacturer who is providing an ALL WELDED SEAM replacement high clearance muffler with the Pinz 2 in 1 out. While the existing "pinch" weld design of our existing unit has been working well for quite a long time, we have had reports of blow outs with very large back fires. Hence the hunt began for a better unit.
After di-secting the stock unit, there is no question it is EXTREMELY heavy walled and strong. There are few aftermarkets that are constructed using materials as thick as the stock unit. My "beef" has always been the size and location of the output.....
I'll get some pics up of the new units on the site, but we won't be shipping for 3-4 more weeks.
Cheers,
Scott Ingham
