Philadelphia-area Pinz (Jay?)

Post by beardo89 »

Any Pinz owners near Philadelphia? I'd really like someone to show me around their Pinz, maybe even take me for a ride. So far the best offer I've been able to get is from Juergen. He offered to show me the pieces of his.

Jay:
Juergen mentioned that you live relatively close and that you might be willing to show me around your Pinz. If you are, please let me know when you'll have a free hour some weekend soon.

beard089,

I live about 20 miles south of Harrisburg. There's another guy on this forum (IwannaPinz) who resides in Easton with his 712M. He might be closer.

PM me if you want to get together sometime.

Yep that’s me
I live about six miles north of Easton.
I think Jay and I are only Pinz owners in PA or am I mistaken?

Could we move the southwest closer to the east coast?

Anyway I would be glad to show you the 712.

Jay, we should have a mini treffen, you and me and my neighbors lawn tractor.

Brian,

You want a Treffen? Attend the WAC B&G MVT Fall Convoy at Green Ridge State Park in Maryland on Saturday, 28 October 2006. You're welcome to come down to my place on Friday evening and we can then convoy to the event early Saturday morning.

As soon as I submitted my response I knew I should have written "move the east coast closer to the south west."

In any order I would love to live closer to the trail opportunities many of you enjoy.

Treffen

Post by beardo89 »

So a meet becomes a "treffen" when Austrian-made toys are involved?

If you guys do decide to do that Fall Convoy, that would probably be the most educational trip for me to make. Be sure to post something on here to let me know you're going and what times you'll be there.

If you guys are not going, then Brian please PM me to setup a meeting.

Convoy

Post by beardo89 »

Even though I have no confirmed Pinzgauers at the Fall Convoy, I'm thinking it might be a good time anyway. Who can I contact for more information about it?

That would be me.

My 710K will be in the lead position of the convoy.

Check out the 28 October entry on the WAC/B&G MVT Club Calendar. http://www.wacbgmvt.org/calendar/wc102006.htm

You need not be a club member to attend and you do not need to drive a military vehicle.

I am thinking about getting a 712 and was wondering if any of the PA members who have Pinzgauers had any trouble getting them registered in the state.

Was also wondering if anyone might let me take a look at theirs. I am located in Emmaus, just a few miles outside Allentown.

Thanks.

I am in Stockertown and I had no problems registering my 712.
It is registered as a truck. You can also register it as an antique. The horn definitely sounds like a Model T.

Do you guys ever go out to Rausch Creek, the private off road vehicle park in Joliett PA? If you ever go there let me know as I would love to meet up with a few other 712's for some off road fun.

Iwanapinz,

Any chance I could take a look at your 712 sometime? The 712s I have seen have been on the west coast, and before I go take a trip out there I would love to take a look at one closer to home.

Thanks,

Matt

Two bird with one stone:

1. I think it would be cool to have an east coast event at Raoush Creek. Are there other east coasties that might be interested?
2. Kronk, let me know through a PM when you would like to come over. It may be up on jack stands for a few weeks. I am getting new tires so I will take the opportunity while the rims are being painted to do some undercarriage restoration.

East Coast Event

Post by LibTimothy »

Right now I plan to be at Rausch Creek on the weekend of August 16th for another event. You all are welcome to join in if you want. In fact, if Matt wants to attend and ride shotgun that would be OK with me. If we get enough Pinzgauers there we can break off from the origional event and form our own event.

Just an idea.
