WisDOT v. Pinzgauers - poop hitting fan

Post by undysworld »

As observed previously, WisDOT is making efforts again to ban Pinzgauers. A public hearing was held Wed. in Madison, and thankfully it was attended by U.S. military collectors and old-car collectors too. Over 60 people attended and nearly everybody registered opposition to the proposal.

Unbelievably, WisDOT/DMV is currently enforcing a policy based on an administrative code they are just now working to get passed. ??? It boggles my mind.

As this is now a much broader group of people affected, it's now on some other forums too. For anybody who's interested in the most recent info, please refer to:

Present on the forum is the DOT atty., Paul Nilsen.

I'm confused. Isn't this legislation aimed at pre-1968 vehicles?

DOT war

check out the Steel Soldiers web site, there are at least 13 pages of the post about this and so far it only concerns WI residents. It could blossom into something very ugly for MV owners elsewhere.
In CA it would affect Arnold's Hummers so I don't see it going there anytime soon.
There is a volume of misinformation about this subject and research should be done and the folks in WI contacted to band together and present a united front on this subject. It may affect all MV owners not just the pinz owners.
