anyone tried a swampy 12 volt Kooler

Post by captxmas »

OK, Planning for summer. Has anyone tried one of the Swampy air conditioner/ evaporative coolers in a 710K? It looks like a couple of their models may work but I wonder how much cooling they actually provide in the K model. If they work I plan on the purchase plus installing insulation in the vehicle. Any ideas on the best insulation material. I was considering foil backed construction foam with a plastic like paneling throughout.

Any feed back will be appreciated.

Thanks as always to my friends.

Insulation

Some Land Rovers came with a double roof, white in color, making for very little radiant heat from hitting you from above, which is where most of the heat comes from. I'm thinking on either solar panels for my 12v system or a roof platform-like rack with a wooden floor. Either would serve as a double roof. Eagerly waiting for info on the Swampy, as I haven't seen a reasonable/no hassle A/C system yet.
