Hey man, watch THIS!

Post by texas pinzgauer »

I've been wanting an inclinometer for sometime now but could never find one. I finally took 2 minutes and found R & B Manufacturing's website (http://www.tiltmeter.com/) looked around to see what they had and called them to place an order. Most of what they sell is for military, industrial and agricultural applications as you would expect.

It showed up like 4 days later and it came with all sorts of cool mounting brackets which I pretty much immeduately dispensed with by just electing to use the double sided tape it came with and stuck it to the windshield. I purchase model #7489C and the cost was $47.00 delivered.

I have a similar R&B tilt meter; my wife and I have an agreement - she can't scream until it gets into the red (30 degrees) and by that time I'm so engrossed that I don't hear her...

I mounted mine between the visors on the winshield frame.

I got the one SAV sells. http://www.pinzgauer.com/showdetails.ph ... no=SAV8300

It lists for $25, and is pretty much like the one you show. IIRC, they threw it in on a big order. I mounted it between the visors too.

It works, and I like it.

I super-glued my rear view mirror to the windshield. My tiltmeter came with the Pinz and is right above the mirror on the frame.

Don't y'all have rear view mirrors????
According to my copy of Webster's Southern Dictionary, you've misused the plural of y'all. It should be: Don't all y'all have rear view mirrors????

And speaking as one of the "y'all"s, NO. Mine never came with a rearview. But it did come with a new DOT window, so maybe it did have one, once.

I have resisted installing a tiltmeter since I suspect that I will be too tempted to watch it (and test it) while driving. I bet if I feel like I'm going to flip, I won't be looking at that gauge, but driving the truck!
