Altenator/Charge Light

Post by SAM. C. »

Greetings Gents

My Altenator light has come on abruptly and will not go out. The belt is in good condition and the fan is turning so that is ok. If i rev the engine hard it does dim very very slightly but this is hardly noticable. Does this mean my altenator is stuffed? Is there any other tests I can do to check it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

check the molex connector and I mean take a good look at the wires on both sides. Also a good time to check the connection at the back of the alternator and the regulator connector, especially if you have been playing in the water/mud.

Thanks 4X4 Pinz I had a burned out wire on the connector and the voltage regulator was shot. All good now and thanks for the advice.
