strange socket ?

strange socket ?
today i noticed a small socket a little smaller than a cigarette car lighter i was wondering if somebody knows what it was used for ? it is mounted on top of the intake cowl right next to where the bolts for the front nameplates are there is also one to the left of the steering wheel ?

I'm not sure about the one on the front, but if it matches the one on the side of the steering wheel, then that is an electrical socket like a cigarette lighter but a different size. EI and SAV sell the correct size plug-in so you can actually use it and plug stuff into it. 24v of course. There are two different size original worklights that I've seen fit it.
