3) T- braces, stainless screws, washers, nuts, and lock washers
The new fuel holder must be mounted about 1.5" lower, and "inboard" about 1.5" from the original holder. This is needed to allow the original holder's lower latch to open cleanly without hitting the new holder. I used fairly simple T-braces from the hardware store -- using 2x braces for each side, and 3x screws per brace. In other words, the lower holder is secured with 4x total braces and 12x bolts/nuts.
* Place a jack under the fuel tank before removing the original jerry can holder * I'm not sure if 2x bolts on the forward side of the fuel can holder are actually holding up the main fuel tank -- but the jack certainly helps keep everything aligned for easy re-installation.
Now, I need to work that shine/sheen off the new tank! Its too clean
