Civvy truck paint codes

Post by Sandy »

I am looking to repaint the exterior of my 710K in a color from a brochure for civvy Pinz trucks. Haven't decided if it will be the sand beige or the gray. Does anyone have any info on the actual color names and paint codes? Sorry for the pic quality. Searched the forum but found nothing yet.

The dual cab doka looks awesome! I like both colors but I lean towards desert sand

If your 710K has its original paint, it may have faded over time. Taking a sample to a paint shop for custom matching is the most accurate method to replicate the current look of your truck, rather than using the original factory code.

You will also need to decide on the appropriate gloss and finish for your paint. Original vehicles often had a lower sheen, semi-gloss, or matte finish rather than a high-gloss automotive clear coat.

Thanks for the replies, guys. As mentioned, I am looking at changing the exterior color from original army green to one of the civvy colors as shown in the Pinzgauer brochure. Now leaning toward the grey. Does anyone know where I can source the original RAL codes for theses colors? I definitely will be using a matte finish.
Thanks!

Hey guys,
As a follow up, I got the RAL color code from Dale at Haflinger Technik. He is a wealth of information, not to mention a source of spare parts.
I will most likely be going with a semi-gloss at his suggestion.

On this topic I would like to pick everyone’s brains. I have a 1975 civilian 712M. It was supplied from the factory to a private customer with an erbespacher heater. It has only done about 16,000kms. It’s definitely not a military one as the specs are very different from the Swiss ones I have had. No sound deadening, a different Pintle hook and it even has ashtrays in the front. The factory (stech) says it was RAL 7008 when new but I cannot find a single piece of RAL 7008 anywhere even underneath the exhaust shields and in some of the most inaccessible parts. Everything is this light grey. I think it probably came out of the factory the light grey colour that it currently is. I have also seen another Pinz online in the US with an almost identical paint job.

My question is do you think this is an original colour scheme? And if it is what is the RAL code for it? I remember seeing lots of Haffys in this light grey but only one other Pinzgauer.

Any opinions welcome.

Thanks
