710K radio table support struts question.

Post by Alaskantinbender »

Good afternoon. I have what may be a silly question. How do you get to the lower nuts below the floor/shelf that the table supports rest on? My truck didn't have the struts installed. There are bolts in the holes. That just spin but won't back out. I really hope that aren't captive nuts in the frame channel that have broken free. I thought they would be in the corner of the fuel tank box, but no.

Thanx much

Jim

I've never had to remove the struts on my K Table so not absolutely sure.
But I would bet these are captive nuts given all the other body locations
that are. Rivnuts could be your best friend.

If you just want the bolts out, sometimes I've had success using a pair of vise-grips on the bolt and pulling up while turning CCW. It's hit or miss on success.
