Imho cutting the chassis to create access sounds like way more work than lifting it. I just removed 5 bolts (on a 712); used the jach to lift the rear and and stacked some blocks of wood underneath the rear bumper. That took less than an hour.

Absolutely. For a once off installation I would agree. For easier future access I may still look at a panel. 4 to 6 rivnuts will be easier. The "difficult" part is that the one supportbar cross over the lever.
It's on the To Do list. A long one. Now the focus is fixing the air tunnel - before our first snow this coming weekend.
