Going from memory here, and just approximations:

The length of the wedge is approx. 3/4"
The thickness of the wedge is 5/16 " at the thick end.
The width of the wedge is 2 1/4"

There is a lip (which prevents the wedge from driving in too far) that extends out about 1/4" from the wedge.

The dimensions of the handle are not critical.

Most use a cold chisel, the kind for cutting metal, concrete, or similar materials. Just find a chisel that is about the correct size. You can grind the chisel end to best fit the slot in the axle. It is not mandatory to use the factory tool.
