You are lucky , the servos are available on your side of the pond.
However, they are between 150-250 British Pounds each.
You will find the old boosters full of brake fluid.
I dumped over a Qt out of a C303 booster
Rebuilding them is not advised as they tend to pit badly :(

I have them dismantled this afternoon and their was plenty of brake fluid in them.

Why shouldn't I rebuild them, I think mine only has bad cups
on the piston. The rest of the servo is still very good.

If the bores are not pitted and parts can be found, rebuild them.
But here in the U.S. it is near impossible to find a kit :(
Post up some pic's of the process if you do rebuild them and list parts source or kit numbers.

Now back to work on Greg's Mobile Fortress :)

I agree about not rebuilding when it comes to those. It never works out in the long run and brakes are the last place where I'd try to save money.

I have found them in a shop who is specialised in MG / Triump /Aston Martin/.... British Cars.

They are readily availble.

I also have a complete manual for the disk brake conversion
with pictures. I have them in Word and PDF.
Can I send them to someone who can publish it here?
I'm not so familiar with the internet.

It is probably best to send that to Vince since he runs this site.

Thanks,
Greg

Hi Folks

With the toyota disc brake conversion, is there any other manufacturers parts that this can be done with on the Volvo C303 ?

A mate of mine mentioned something about landrover ?? Is there a disc brake conversion for the landrover Forward Control 101 ? Are they similar ?

Does anyone know if OMT is still in operation? Myself and another forum member have been unsuccessfully trying to email them. Do they speak English there? May have to call them.

I'm investigating another solution from Off Toad Tarvike in Finland.
They have a kit using Willwood discs and calipers, and conveting to Toyota 6 bolt pattern, by suppling a modified original hub.
800 Eur per axle. (wheels not included)
They have to use weld in toyota rims to get the correct offset, and can make them beadlock or normal.

Disc brakes would be sweet, but the different bolt patterns would be expensive and a PITA on my TGB.Too bad there isn't a kit using stock wheels,I would be an owner!

They did tell me they were working on a kit which retained the 8 bolt pattern, but that it would be around 1200 Eur per axle as they have to manufacture new hubs rather than machine original ones.

Yep, you'll notice i'm a poster in that thread.
Its a DIY not a ready kit, so you would need a to find a machinist. Not a show stopper, but extra work.
But i have 2 reservations, 1) It uses parts that are not easily available in Europe (ok fine for most of you guys) an 2) i'm not sure about the studs not sitting on flat faces at the rear.
