My starter started grinding a couple of weeks after replacing it with the reduction starter. I replaced the mount yesterday. It had started to split between the rubber and steel allowing it to flex (just a little). I've started it like 3 times and no more grind so far.

I too managed to shear the mount right after replacing the stock starter with the gear reduction one. I suppose the greater turning speed is a product of greater torque, so the increased loading on the old rubber mount exposes weaknesses that the standard starter would have ignored.

Yes, that's it. SAV has it for $32.11. IIRC, you'll also need a couple of different mounting bolts if you use this plate, 09-01-5.1 & 09-01-10.1.
