Thanks for the all ideas! It looks like it may be best, in this case, to go more in the "it's harder to come by but you can usually trade food for it" kind of direction. I prefer to be accurate to avoid distraction so this might be better than getting technical, plus its a small detail in the context of the thing anyway.
