Guys and Peter down under.
In short doing well.
I suppose I don't need to mention that the economic slump has cut into the Pinz business for everyone and of course discrectionary spending (Mogs for that matter too!).
I get about 5 or six Pinzies per month in these days for repairs, got three in for various repairs at the moment. Credit card payments seem to be off colour these days with cash being king! Then that seems to be the case across the board on all types of repairs.

Still things are looking up, big truck APU's sales having been in the doldrums since last November have picked up; I sold my first unit last week since that date.
The light diesel truck busines is booming and it seems folk are more willing to repair their stuff these days instead of trading!
Landrover repairs just keep rolling in and the Ural motorcycles we branched out on two years ago is now beginning to take hold and I will be a full blown dealer by next year with a Service & Sales dept out back.
Now I didn't think it would happen so soon, but I even have an offer to PX a Ducati Monster for a 710M!
I seem to be getting some good reveiews in the Ural bike circles see
thread www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=491984
I suppose we haven't lost sight of the Pinz units and sales of used parts from wrecks are still a vibrant as ever with folk looking to DIY repair their rigs with good used stuff.
So I can sum up by saying we are boogying along!
On a light hearted note I will say "au revoir" until the next time with my favourite old 'uns, Buena Vista Country Club and Habana that looks even more mouldering than when I worked there in the mid 70's.

Dennis welcome back

It’s very good to have one of the experts back on the forum.

We are sure the perspective owner of RTPT will be very happy with his decision, despite the fact that Jim L may start to resemble Andre and me with all the lobster he will be eating.

Don’t worry about the weight issue, Mike and I are suggesting he can save weight by giving us the widened rims, air conditioning, generator, winch and any other “heavy” parts he doesn’t really need. (Mogfest with A/C would be nice, he he)

I just need to state that Dennis sold me a good set of parts from that wreck he mentioned to replace my 712 rusted panels. Thanks again my friend to save me some good bucks.

As a minor note to you, I had the pleasure to see live the Buena Vista Social Club in Caracas in 2003. What a show. Sadly some of their members have now passed away, but still the sound is amazing.

Remember our deal next time you stop in Dallas... ;-)

See you soon mi amigo!!!

It sounds like the best and highest use for the former Redbull trucks is for them to be disassembled and recycled!

I'm very interested but overly cautious. Reading through some previous posts, there is a lot of custom work done to it, including the wheels. May be a HUGE PITA!
Not the stock engine or transmission. It has a TD tranny and a 2.7 injected motor.

It's at his place right now. He touched it with a 2 foot pole. :)

BTW, I am marrying in to Jim's family, I'm going to pretend I'm a cat. Seriously, within 30 minutes after getting the truck to Jim's place, we had it apart so Jim could troubleshoot why it was running so poorly. Turns out it was the wrong spark plugs, tightened finger tight and a broken ground wire for the number 2 coil pack (uses 4 individual coils).

guess what? It runs great now (at least in place) and seems to be a pretty decent truck. There are some possible issues with some of the drivetrain, but overall the truck was a steal. Jim will be working on it this week between his 6 million other projects and I will be up at his place next weekend to finish off some of the project and then drive it down to Ramona!

sometimes a too good to be true deal is just a good deal. BTW, the plan is to drive it to Mogfest next month so if you're attending, you can check it out.

I'm a happy boy!
Michael

Well, I drove the truck down from San Bernardido and it works pretty well other than not having any power whatsoever climbing up the steep passes on I-15. Comfortable cruising speed of around 62-65 MPH and relatively quiet.

A/C will be only used while on the trail; using while driving effectively neuters the truck. However, it now blows ice cold!

The kids think its great, even the wife likes it!!!

Lots of fixing to do before Mogfest, but I'll be driving it up and wheeling it (moderately)
