Lollipops or pedestal style lamps are great for lane changing and such. I'd recommend one of the "knock-down" varieties if you're a boonie basher.

thanks mike, I was looking at those as a possibility. I have not found any 24V LED ones yet. They may have to be bulbs. I want to do LED as much as possible with any new lights. I'll keep looking.

Okay guys here are the ones I used. I used two per side at 40.00 each. They had a "L" bracket that required a chop saw to custom fit.

They did not need the addition of an aftermarket flasher either.

is that a set of tail/brake and a separate set of turns?

No, Tim's lights work together like the're supposed to

(wired US style)
They are very bright

huh. i might wire 2 sets doubled-up like that, too. dunno yet. that might be easier than the separate amber turns. but i sure like the look of separate amber turns.
"supposed to"?
not sure what that means.
i'm also going to use these same lights for rear side markers on another mounting bkt. maybe some amber ones in the front, too. monday it'll finally be on the road - lit like a far truck.

Supposed to means that both of the lights are lit all the time with them both getting brighter under braking and both blinking (brighter) when signaling. They work exactly like the lights on any modern car. I thought about amber for the signals but these things are so bright there is no mistakeing them for anything other than what they are.
They are VERY bright!!!! in fact so bright that I decided against installing backup lights and just drag the brakes when backing lol. I think they are the best tailight product on the market. They have a lifetime warranty also........................
They also come in colors such as red and amber. Mine just uses a clear lens and red LED's because I live in SoCal you have to have clear taillights on a custom. I think it is part of the vehicle code.
The best part is that if you find the right brackets they bolt almost right on and are theft resistent.

i see! my tail lights are the same as yours except they are the round ones. i stuck'm on a 24 volt power supply here at work when thet came in. geeziss! nice! 15 led's!
we're experimenting with the new 5 watt led's here. they may be used as eye illumination in our new lasik machine. i may get some that get dicarded as out-of-spec somehow. think'n about how they might go on my new pinz.
they are bright.
No brighter!!

If the tail lights were any brighter they would be a hazard to the drivers behind me.
5 watters would be blinding if you used as many.

no no, i wasn't thinking of creating tail lights with them. more like interior lights.
or LIGHTS UNDERNEATH SO I CAN CRUISE RODEO BLVD LOW AND SLOW! SWEET!

The ASL red and ambers are indeed very bright. I have found it beneficial to have a functional blackout switch to disable the brakelights and thereby avoid blinding the folks behind me during night runs. I have some cheapo fogs outfitted with 24v bulbs wired on their own circuit to light each wheelwell so visibilty from behind is not a problem.

You are spoiling the surprise. I went with PS/2 and maroon shag carpet. It is all set off by the green led valve stem cap lights also.
