As "ako" said, a sausage (usually beef) ...... We'll have to teach you Aussie slang Vince.
Yes, it really is KISS, but when I tell it to the students nowdays I have to tone it down.....Can't go calling people stupid!

I'm sorry to hear the politically correct BS has even infested the Aussie shores! It's a sad day.
My son is a 2nd stage sheet metal worker apprentice here in Canada and will be very impressed when I show him your work. Maybe I can get him inspired to work on a hard top for my 710M....

Unfortunately political correctness is one of those spreading ideologies that is affecting us all.
Good luck convincing your son to help you build a hardtop for your Pinzgauer.....I look forward to seeing the end reults.

I've eventually started construction of the final panel I need to make for the body......the right rear door skin.
I was given an old rusted door by one of our German members, which I cut the door handle detail out of, and will weld it into the new "skin" (that will save me some fab time).
I'm happy that the fold height/widths of the new skin are within +/- 0.5mm of the original unit so it should line up nicely.
In the next few days I'II fold the sides and fit it to the already finished inner door shell.

G'Day All,
It's been many years since I've posted pics of my 718 Rebuild, but it's now been finished for some years ....Well do you ever fully finish a restoration.
I stopped posting years ago when my internet supplier dropped support for file/picture storage and I just never got back to posting when cloud storage became the norm.
Recently I created a Facebook Page of photo's and text detailing the 10 year rebuild of my 718K so if your still interested, feel free to join and I hope you enjoy it
I'll continue to update it over the following months.

Well, I hope you enjoy looking at the Facebook page.....It took 10 years to get the TD back on the road, but I got there.
I've done a number of trips, but nothing as "extreme" as I take the 712 on, as I built it up mainly for long distance touring.
Did a 1000km run up to see a mate, for a few days, some months ago, and it performed very well.....Found a few areas that I hope to improve on, but all up I'm happy.
Yes, its supposed to be Summer, but down here in Victoria we haven't had a lot of hot weather yet....the night before last I had the wood heater fired up.
Western Australia and Queensland have had some very hot weather recently but down here in Melbourne its cold and wet
Regards,
