Earlier today my son Anthony crashed his Jeep. He is in the hospital with a major concussion in South Carolina. My wife and I are in route to go see him and handle his affairs. To my customers: please excuse any delays this may cause your projects. Thank you for your continued patience and support. Please keep Anthony in your prayers. If anyone knows of a jeep salvage near Charleston South Carolina let me know. Heading east on I-20 on a shoe string budget. Thank you Again for all your support.

Andre,

Uggh, head injuries. Very sorry to hear of this news. I'm praying for the very best and quickest return to normal for Anthony and you all.

Despite all the current dire warnings about concussions, speaking as someone who has suffered more of them than I can (or care to) remember, I will state that they generally pass with time and care. It would be best if he can allow himself time to fully heal before he takes another whack though. I had two within one month, just a couple years ago, and the second one really took a while to get past. Of course, I was over 50 then too, and age makes them worse too.

I predict he'll have some wild dreams for a few weeks, be a bit fuzzy for a month maybe, and in six months be good as new.

Here's a listing of Jeep salvage companies in SC: South Carolina
Kaiser-Willys Auto Supply
888/648-4923
kaiserwillys.com
New and used parts for '41-'75 Jeeps

Ironman 4WD
864/878-2903
Wrangler, Cherokee, FSJs, Comanche, and more

Info came from here: http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/154-1 ... directory/

Here's a link to a Dr. Gary Hartstein's blog on concussions: https://formerf1doc.wordpress.com/categ ... cal-stuff/
Gary used to be the Formula 1 medical director. I started following his blog after Michael Schumacher's skiing accident. It all struck close for me, since I too drive too fast and ski faster. Of course, his outcome was about as bad as they get, so don't take all that on. But the articles give excellent info about concussions in general.

Again, best wishes for a safe trip and a speedy recovery.

Paul

Good news. Memory improving quickly. Motor skills on point. No dizziness or vertigo. Still doesn't remember the accident.

Andre good to hear he is doing better.

I've seen a few jeep wrecks and truck wrecks like that where the driver walks away fairly unharmed amazingly. Always a good reminder of our mortality when you see a wreck like this. Hopefully everything else is minor and he heals up fine. Doubt he'll remember much of what happened after impact.

All sounds really good. (Even not remembering it, IMHO.) Probably just needs some extra rest for a while. Will he be in the hospital for long?
