That'll be the last time he'll watch reruns of "The Rat Patrol" and then go wheeling

Appears to have been widened? Is it standard to have such wide mud guards on this Jeep?

Being widened would put more stress on original components of the front axle, making them more likely to break..

I've had my '79 CJ airborne a couple times without such issues, but probably less altitude. I didn't notice the Jeep in the photos was wider than stock. Just the wheels/tires, I think.

That all anybody usually does - add spacers and wider rims - puts more strain on the original axle system!.

I have one
My Gentleman's Offroader ... well not as Gentleman like as my Duramax Colorado

The JK and JKU don't have much suspension travel stock, and will bottom out on a good dip in the road.

Careful now Vince. I've had one thrice. I still have the third one, in fact. At least some original parts...
A Pinz? No. Fun to drive? Better believe it. How's that go: Hop in, strap down, shut up, and hold on.
It even hauls (ass) more than my Pinz.

But to your original point, jumping isn't recommended for either one, I'd guess.

I inadvertently jumped my pinz when i was traveling too fast on a beach and hit a cross directional rut. It bent the front nose down to the point that the doors would no longer latch. Wont do that again....

On fairly flat ground.

I would bet that if it made the same jump as the JKU, there would be damage.... maybe not looking as bad, but probably requiring lot deeper pockets to repair

And that is the same reason you do not tie a Pinz down by the front pin when trailering. It pulls the front clip forward and down.
As a side note, slam locks as used on Gas Pinzes ,older LRs and others were outlawed in the early '70s due to doors flying open in accidents in favor of 'anti-burst' locks.

Our governments trys it's best to keep occupants with the vehicle that they arrived to the accident in.

Yeah Paul, some people will think I should to hell for that comment too. :P

Where's that "just whistling" face when I need it? No worries, no offense taken Dave. 8)

Considering that I drive around in a vehicle without doors or roof, who am I to complain. In my opinion the most important safety component found in any vehicle is the driver. Somebody, somewhere, died today in a brand new vehicle wearing their seat belt.
