Seems weird to see British Special Forces driving anything but a LR or Pinz. I guess lots of issues are taken into account, in this particular case, like parts availability.

Nice unit. I can't say I'd be too upset to have the Toyota dependability out there.

In a bit of full circle, those remind me of the original LRDG (Long Range Desert Group) vehicles.

And I don't understand people emailed me that Al-Thalab link telling me they found my next project. :?

But if anyone is interested, this is the link to Jankel and the Fox LRPV . Also interesting is the contact info is to South Carolina

You'll also find a link there to JMGS , the J8, militarized version of the JKU

You'll notice the 'mandatory' Pinz inclusion on the right. :D ( that's got to be an old photo )

This is what that was derived from

Massive widening of the track, hence the deep set wheels and wide front fenders

In the "Telegraph" article's first picture, they seem to have both versions of the Al-Thalab (the one shown by Vince and the one shown by David), which, if I am not mistaken, are based on different generations of the Toyota pick-up (which may well be very similar underneath the sheet metal):

Yeah Jan, later last night I found the Jankel's UK site and more of their vehicles
http://www.jankel.com/home

They have several variants of the Fox RRV and LRPV. With so many acronyms, we're going to need more letters added to the alphabet.
