Easy - RENAULT 4x4 Sinpar - but I happen to have an odd fascination with French 4wd vehicles - and you can kinda make out the Renault diamond on the grille. The non-4wd version of the van was called the Renault Goélette.

But my personal choice would be an older suicide door Citroen H-Van body on a Unimog frame - used to have some photos of one which was built in the upper BC Canada area.
Although I've heard that it is possible to put a complete subaru engine and transmission into one rather easily
The challenge is the rear drive - the floor is completely flat from the firewall to the back doors - there is no frame - the floor is a 1 inch think "corrugation" of three layers of steel - just like a sheet of cardboard. The inside is 11 inches off the ground and there is 10 inches of ground clearance under it.
