Hi Paul, I am confused about the versions of the reservoir. My Pinz has what I guess is version 1 since it is different than this one for sale. Are they interchangeable? Benefits or reason for Version 2 other than supply chain? Thanks!

Good Morning!
Yes they are interchangeable. I had the original unit in mine but it had accumulated so much nasty crud in it and one of the caps had cracked so when I replaced it (5+ years ago) I used the version 2. No modifications needed to install. Benefits are availability and about 1/4 the cost of the original. I've had no issues with the new one.
There may be a drawback but I have not encountered one.
