just got my truck back from a long refresh at goatwerks and ready to sell it. it's converted to camping interior now, but all original interior is in storage and included in sale. it has had carbs rebuilt, new plugs, SSI ignition 2 new batteries installed and a solargiser solar battery maintainer installed on top. there's all new gauges, ignition switch, turn signal switch, voltage regulator and custom seatcovers inside, along with short wave radio, 2 fire extinguishers, and assorted accessories. the brake system is all new parts from start to finish, including the rubber lines. tires are BF Goodrich T/A KM3 mud terrain and in great condition. there's a food grade 5 gallon jerrycan with tap mounted on back. i had it custom painted 2 years ago and it gets a lot of attention. i'm including all my gear which consists of 12 volt converter, 12 volt smittybuilt compressor, tire deflaters, all brand new rhino recovery items, go treads traction boards with case, and all original tools plus additional tools, and 6 or 7 MTM ammo crates for storage (which all fit underneath the bed platform), and camping gear. uninstalled items include a new 76x59 rhino rack platform roof rack (less feet) and a 2.5 series 2000 eezi-awn awning (slightly used) with 3 add-on walls. it's licensed and titled in nevada and i'm offering it at $26,000. thank you -rick

Well IMHO that's a great price for this truck. And Jim L. serviced this one.
** If anyone out there is sitting on the fence jump on this **
BTW if you are experiencing some sudden backfiring (or post-ignition).
Check your timing, may have slipped. Possibly the Distributor clamp was
loose or the timing disk slipped. You should set the static timing to be
slightly advanced e.g. ~2mm.

thank you Ron for the kind words. Jim thinks it's the SSI system giving up and said to re-install the old distributor (pertronix) and that should fix everything. i'm wondering if a valve might be stuck and the waste spark system is firing that second cylinder causing the backfire thru the carbs. i'm not smart enough to know and haven't worked on it in awhile now.

A compression test is pretty easy to do and will tell you if there's
an issue. I've had two cases of Exhaust value recession where
compression was zip on one cylinder.
The best test is a Leak down Test -- if you have a Air compressor.
This will isolate an issue between Intake, Exhaust, and Rings as an
issue. The Harbor Freight tester is not that great but cheap. I
spent a bit more on an OTC

You could try swapping out the PinzSSI with the Pertronix, but I'd
check your timing first it's very easy to do. PM me if you need any
help on that.
cheers,
ron

you are very nice to offer advice to me, as i do need it. i have a friend who will come over and do the compression test for me, but he is busy right now. i think he would follow your advice on these steps as he goes down the rabbit hole, chasing this backfiring issue. wish me luck.
