Heater ducting

Hello

Ok. So considering my air tunnel post, I figured I’d better look under the bed because it has a liner on the bottom and sides (from the seats down). I didn’t see any rust holes. Phew. I’ll have to get that stuff off.
Anyway, I saw a small ducting above the heat exchanger. What is that? Is it an exit for the hot air that doesn’t go into the cab?

There is a second output port (on most heat exchangers) for a 40mm
hose for pre-heated air to the Air intake manifold for winter use.

Hello

This smaller ducting was secured to the body and the end was open.
Maybe a better way to describe it is this. There is a large hose coming forward from the heat exchanger. It connects to what looks like a diverter box. It has a push/pull cable connected to it. Forward of that box is another large duct. The hose from the heat exchanger has a smaller parallel hose that connects to this diverter box, but the other end is open. Again, it’s secured to the body. It goes from the diverter box to empty above the heat exchanger.
What is that smaller ducting/hose for?

Ya, that's supposed to eventually connect to the Air intake before the Cyclone Air Filter -- see PIX.
There's a few variations on this theme, a 2-Port and 1-Port output Heat Exchanger and two flavors
Heater valves. Most have a duct going back to the Air Intake by some means. If your in a moderate
climate no need.

Hello

Ok. Thanks for the pic. Item #60 is what I’m talking about. It empties out to the rear of the heat exchanger.

That's the Eberspacher heater exhaust.

Hello

I don’t think so. You can see it connects to the diverter box I described. Item #61. Also the items in that pic are for the standard heater/vent system. Like in an M

Allow me to rephrase my response... 30-05-60 is what is connected to the hose that's connected to the exhaust port of the previous Eberspacher and now Webasto heater in my 710K.

I concur with Mr. Zero but agree the picture is a bit misleading.
