Engine cover fabrication?

Hello

Has anyone considered or completed an engine cover made of sheet metal? Maybe made to be removed in 3 pieces. The entire center section could be removed for improved access without removing the seats. Maybe make it higher for arm rests. Thoughts?

You'd want to add some heavy insulation or maybe use fiberglass instead. Sheet metal would be a like a big speaker. Ive seen one or two over time but nothing done well. Might be easier to mod an original one.?
