Is power arc still selling the pinzssi system? I tried calling several times and got a voicemail that doesn’t say power arc or pinzssi. I sent an email to the outlook address, but got no response.

PinzSSI is no longer offered for sale and Power Arc Ignitions no longer manufactures the components for the PinzSSI system.

Yeah. I just did more digging and saw the post announcing the closure. Oh well. Thanks for the responses. Such a bummer

SSI is a well worthwhile conversion, unless your a purest on stock fitup.
Expedition Imports lists the Pertronix conversion on the WEB site.
Arguably, PinzSSI is superior but also is far more sensitive to dust
ingress effecting the optical path and some of the earlier models
had voltage sourcing issues e.g. a reliable 12V supply for the controller.
If your hell bent on acquiring a PinzSSI there are several sitting on
shelf's I am aware of having been pulled from Pinz'ies in frustration.
You could try posting "Want to Buy" here, or in the Pinzgauer FB page,
or call Andre at Fat Fab. If your that serious I'd help talk you though
the bring-up and testing, I know of one that is good -- I bench tested
it but the owner may have reinstalled it. But then there's Pertronix
new out of the box from EI.

I have the pertronix and it runs great. I think I’ll leave well enough alone. There’s, still, the efi bat flying around in my belfry though. Ha!

My PinzSSI is fantastic and solved a lot of problems I was experiencing with the pertronix system installed in my 1975 710K. High dollar but well worth it in my opinion. However nothing mechanical lasts forever and I know one day it will have a problem. At that time, I will feel very abandoned given the absence of ongoing support and parts for that high dollar product. I do not look forward to returning to the Pertronix. I guess maybe I should buy one of those now before it gets discontinued.

An alternative is to install a full ECU like I did, Megasquirt Pro 3 mini.
More involving but you can do more than timing advance. I'm using an external coil driven by the ECU and kept my mechanical distributor stock in case my new system fails. See my thread about it, I prefer if you ask questions over there.

Keith,
Ya, I got nervous about my PinzSSI in the 712 esp when I had some unexpected problems.
I posted that experience some time back. In the high Sierras there is super fine dust particles
that worked their way inside the optical path. Lost trigger -- no spark. I ended up shrouding
the cap with MERV 16 air filter material.
Now looking into the rear view mirror with all issues I experienced, I can say that the controller
and mechanical drive are very robust. Issues typically are associated with the quality of the 12V
source with the 1.0 version being the weakest (but upgradable), contamination, and possibly in
need of timing adjust.

That is good to hear, Ron. I remember your post about the dust.
