A 712 has the rear diffs "stacked" so to speak, and the diff assemblies look the same..

..Can an additional diff assy be added on to create an 8x8?

Perhaps a 8x8 DK? I know steering would really suck, but I feel that would be the least of my problems! If my K doesn't find a home, maybe some other ideas will prevail. :shock How about a strech 710 6x6? Adding a 2nd diff should make it longer than a 712, and maybe a good camper base. I had another sick thought...REMOVE the rear diff from a 712 and make a "shorty" 710

It would be more like a 3/4linger! Just some thoughts my friends Jack,Bud,and Johnny have had in the past! TTFN,Mark

You could add the steering diff to one end or the other but the steering geometry and gearing would need to be worked out to allow for the correct radius of turn.

Be careful if you make a shorty 710. Steyr withdrew the 716 SWB (716 with 2200mm centre tube) after several accidents. I suspect a 710 SWB would be even scarier.
Shouldn't be any major problem with the other two ideas though....
The one I'd like to see is twin front axles, don't know how the steering would work on that!

They say the camera puts on a few "pounds" !

I guess I must of skimmed over that in "Pinz 101"

My head is like an old toilet....sometimes a "jiggle" of the handle is all it takes to set things right!

More pics of Haffies "morphed" in Indonesia.
And yes , this was part of Pinz 101
Something I could do with the spare Haffies I have laying around.

Mark....I've seen them on ebay a few times. There is also one here in Las Vegas, it sits in front of a paintball place as advertisement. I don't even want to know how hard it would be to get parts for it though.

The gentleman that owns the one pictured above says it is no problem to find parts...................as long as you have $$$$$$$$$$
If you want to buy one you will be looking close to 6 digits for a decent one.
When I go to work on his Pinz I'll see if I can take a few more pic's
I think it's time to move this thread over to the general chat section for proper board protocol as it has strayed from the Tech end of things

Well guys,
Here is a 8x8 MAN Kat 1 10 Tons. Plenty of room as a mobile home. Only 22,000 miles and parts are much easier to find. All of this for 28,000 euros + shipping.
