Though it hasn't been written in gold, it was the general practice of this forum to keep posted pics to 640x480 and smaller. There are people out there on dial-up still. There is no need for larger pics here. If you feel that the larger pic is needed, post a link rather than the actual pic.
The dialup users will thank you..

The dialup users of the forum thank you, and anyone else that makes their pics within reason.
There was a user "pre-crash" that posted thumbnails that you could click on to go to the full size pic. If anybody knows how it's done, it would be great if they could share on how to do it.

Well I am one of the little people and I sure do appreciate the gesture.
Sometimes one clicks on a thread and that is it for ages as it goes through it process showing just a white screen until it is finished downloading

so 640 wide is ok?

2012, I have no idea what was used, and I tried different methods with photobucket.
Anthony, this forum is useless if the masses can't load it and use it. A lot of people have a lot to offer here, but they debate if the waiting time to up or download something is really worth it.
640x has always seemed to be an acceptable size, though I do go smaller if it will convey the idea. Again, a link to the original pic would be appropriate if needed for closer detail.
And while we're on topic (sort of), many avatars are are a bit on the large size out there.

What's the deal with adding an avatar? I have a bunch of pics on webshots.com but can't seem to get a pic over here as an avatar. Any suggestions on adding one? Thanks!

Whats "dialup"? Is it something that is an antique like our trucks?
I am only 41 so maybe I am not old enough to remember "dialup".

Hey, knock it off. Once upon a time, I had a dumb terminal and a 300 baud modem. Forget the jargon I could spew, just think of a pinto pulling a semi truck up a big hill. Gawd this dial up is great compared to that. Even on a bad day I get in at 23k connect speed or so. Yeah I know 56k should work, but we are on the end of a slick 50 (telco jargon for your out of luck) and oh yeah ya can't get anything better because your too far from a central office for DSL and your phone service is multiplexed out of the neighborhood and this is the best ya gonna get. That must be why I always put the http link in the email instead of the pic.
So if Dave is the dinosaur, than I'm the Ford Pinto at the Indy 500.. No wait! How many Dr Demonto fans do we have out there? I'm the little Nash Rambler. Beep, Beep If you have that song, I gotta get copy. My other Dr Demento cds don't have it.

Has your chewing gum lost it's flavor on the bed post overnight?
I can go on, ... remember Alvin, Simon and Theodore ?
